Verizon Leverages NFL Partnership Via 5G Super Bowl Stadium In Fortnite, A Big Game Spot & After Party

A key strand of official NFL telco partner Verizon’s Super Bowl LV activation is the new ‘Verizon 5G Stadium In @Fortnite‘.

The initiative saw the telecoms giant team up with a group of Fortnite Creative map builders – Team Beyond – and several NFL stars to create what it believes is ‘the ultimate #SBLV experience for gamers and football fans alike’.

The stadium was built using the ultra-low lag and latency of Verizon and a campaign on Verizon’s social channels is inviting fans/gamers to visit the in-game experience all week for your chance to play, party & win! #5GBuiltRight by heading to the Creative Welcome Hub to get started, or by using code 5926-8650-7282.

As well as the Fortnite initiative, Verizon also ran a gamers-focused ‘Can’t Blame The Lag’ Big Game commercial (its fourth in a row) fronted by a Samuel L Jackson avatar and promoted 5G Ultra Wideband.

Plus, it also hosted a virtual benefit concert to raise money for small businesses after Sunday’s game (with Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Luke Bryan and Miley Cyrus scheduled to appear) and, as the league’s official telco partner, it has also installed various 5G-powered activations and services on the ground in Tampa Bay and inside the host stadium.

It also ran a social series called ‘Viewpoints’ which explored football plays from 7 different POVs.
