DAZN’s ‘#ALL41 – Thank You Dirk’ Salute To Dallas Mavericks Legend Dirk Nowitzki

To commemorate Dirk Nowitzki’s last home game of the season for the Dallas mavericks, sports broadcaster DAZN rolled out an online #ALL41 tribute campaign led by an emotional hero film.

The digital campaign, created in harness with creative Kolle Rebbe, features the player’s jersey number – 41- and a #ALL41 (all for one) play on words and is fronted by an impressive team of sports influencers.

These include fellow German sports stars such as Marc-André ter Stegen, Mario Götze and Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Just as the ‘German Wunderkind’ was loyal to just one team – the Dallas Mavericks – through his 21-year NBA career so his fans have stayed loyal supporters of the team’s star player.

The spot has a strong local and community flavour and focuses on the fact that, unlike many other sports stars, Nowitzki chose loyalty over money and authenticity over glamour throughout his hoops career.

The campaign offers local supporters and famous fans a chance to show their appreciation for the 40-year-old from Würzburg and to give something back as they share personal moments from the star’s career which are all linked though his jersey number 41.

The spot debuted on the media giant’s YouTube, Facebook and lnstagram channels and on the video cube in the American Airlines Arena in Dallas during the night to Wednesday.

The brand and agency also produced a supporting set of detailed content around the game which was made available exclusively on the DAZN platform.

The campaign was created for DAZN VP of Marketing Philip Tutmann, Head of Social Felix Willikonsky and Head of Sports Frederik Koch, by a Kolle Rebbe team that included Marco Obermann, Christoph Bielefeldt, Alexander Michaelsen, Jan Vierig, Lea Zaydowicz and Andreas Knapp

This is just one of several notable April brand films acting as advertising tributes to NBA legends.

Another emotional tribute to Nowitzki came from Nike,

while others include emotional and powerful Dwayne Wade tributes from Budweiser

and Gatorade.
