Dallas Cowboys Favourite Player AR Selfie Booth A Standout Tech Feature In Enhanced 5G Stadium

Fans arriving at the Dallas Cowboys giant, high-tech AT&T Stadium for the first games of the new NFL 2019/20 season are invited to try an innovative new photo kiosk featuring the latest picture technology.

Unveiled at the start of the new season at the home win over the New York Giants, the fresh take on sports in arena photo booths saw Superfan DC Blue Star capture and store pictures of the Cowboys and thus enable fans using the booth to have their picture taken with their favourite Cowboys players – whilst they are actually playing.

The photo booth screen offers fans the chance to select up to five different Cowboys stars to join their very own selfie: options include quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott, wide receivers Amari Cooper and Randall Cobb, center Travis Frederick, linebackers Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch, and right guard Zack Martin.

The subsequent selfie can then be shared across the fan’s own social channels.

The hi-tech photo booth is just one fan-friendly feature of the Dallas stadium’s enhanced tech offering for the new season – which also includes 5G and AR.

AT&T Stadium is one of the first grounds in the USA to become a 5G enhanced stadium and this saw fans attending the Giants season opener enjoy multiple new tech and AR activations all made possible by the faster connection speeds.

With AT&T 5G and Samsung’s NETGEAR AR equipment, fans were treated to 36-foot, huge 3D representations of star players Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott towering over the stadium upon arrival into the ground, and then inside supporters could get pictures and videos of themselves with Cowboys players using AR technology such as a facility enabling them to perform touchdown dances with the players dancing alongside and also to keep up to date with live match stats in-stadium using localised AR content on Samsung S10 5G phones.

Love them or hate them, the Cowboys have long been one of the NFL’s trend setting franchises.

Indeed, that’s one of the reasons owner Jerry Jones spend $200m on buying the team back in 1989 – an investment which today is worth more than $5bn.
