Ochsner Sport Leverages Swiss Olympic Team Sponsorship Via Cinematic ‘Where We Train’ Campaign

Swiss sports retail chain Ochsner Sport promoted its partnership with Swiss Olympic (the brand name of the country’s National Olympic Committee and the umbrella organisation for organised Swiss sport) through a high-octane campaign called ‘Where We Train’.

 

The marketing initiative activates the sports retailer’s premium partnership with the Swiss Olympic Team and leverages spoking Swiss sporting interest around Tokyo 2020.

 

The campaign is spearheaded by a direct and powerful commercial which was created in tandem with agency thjnk Zurich and directed by Familia’s Swiss filmmakers Animals.

 

The hero spot focuses on a team of Swiss athletes and Ochsner Sport ambassadors who taking part in the Olympic Games: including beach volleyball duo Tanja Hüberli and Nina Betschart, triathlete Nicola Spirig, artistic gymnast Giulia Steingruber, mountain biker Nino Schurter, para-athlete Marcel Hug and marathon runner Tadesse Abraham.

 

The cinematic video – which pushes viewers towards the brand’s Tokyo 2020 Swiss Team apparel collection at dosp.ch/swissolympicteamcollectionde – features the athletes in full-throttle training-mode and focuses on the determination and resilience of the athletes as they train in harsh weather conditions and push themselves to the limit from dawn until dusk.

 

 

The spot and supporting creative ran across Swiss television and was amplified via the brand’s own digital and social platforms.

 

 

“We live in Switzerland, but often look at films, commercials, art and promos from all over the world. With this campaign we wanted to make something which looks and feels like a campaign which could be from anywhere in the world. We purposely didn’t want it to look too ‘Swiss’, as it talks about athletes who compete and have fans all over the world,” commented Directors Animals.

 

“Thanks to Ochsner Sport and thjnk for the trust and support on this one. I hope we captured the intensity of the athletes in the run up to the biggest sporting competition in the world, which has already been under such intense scrutiny during the pandemic. But the agency had their eyes and ears open for our input; from pre-production, to set and in post. This was a truly fun and collaborative one from beginning to end.”

 

The campaign was created for client Ochsner Sport by a team at agency Thjnk Zurich which included Creatives Alexander Jaggy, Lukas Amgwerd and Lukas Frischknecht.

 

The director was ANIMALS and the production company was Hillton with DOP Daryl Hefti, Focus Puller Christian Mathis, Second AC Carlo Espostito, plus grade was handled by Joseph Bicknell and the VFX artists was Das Alte.
