‘1+1=ESPN’ Fantasy Football Campaign Launches Ahead Of New NFL 2019/20 Season

With the 2019/20 NFL season around the corner and fans preparing for another round of Fantasy Football, ESPN launched the latest iteration of its ‘1+1 = ESPN Fantasy’ marketing campaign on 21 July.

 

The digitally-led campaign, created by agency Butler, Shine & Stern & Partners (BSSP), rolled out in July 2019 across the USA and aims to show committed NFL fans that when it comes to having fun with friends and family, the formula is simple.

 

Friends + Football = ESPN Fantasy Football.

 

The creative features dynamic, colourful images of NFL stars, including the likes of Aaron Rodgers and Saquon Barkley, as it seeks to highlight ESPN’s leading Fantasy Football platform.

 

And to remind fans that ‘ESPN is THE Place For NFL Fans To Play’.

 

Led by a spearhead spot,

 

 

and primarily focusing on digital and social platforms (where Fantasy Football itself is played), this integrated initiative also runs across television, online video and radio media.

 

The campaign saw ESPN work with agency BSSP and LA-based motion graphics firm, Gentleman Scholar.

 

Was created for ESPN’s Laura Gentile (Senior Vice President, Marketing) and a group that included Seth Ader ( Vice President, Brand Marketing), Peter Mulally (Director, Brand Marketing), John Lobo (Manager, Brand Marketing), Spencer Shaev (Coordinator, Brand Marketing) and Billy Hickmott (Intern, Brand Marketing).

 

It is BSSP’s first campaign with ESPN Fantasy Football and the agency’s team was led by Matthew Curry (Chief Creative Officer), Sinan Dagli (Creative Director), Chris Cavalieri (Associate Creative Director), Mike McGuire (Copywriter), Sarah Ross (Art Director), Meredith Ashworth (Producer), Michelle Finelli (Account Director), Patrick Gregory (Account Supervisor) and Jake Bayham (Strategy Director).

 

The Production Company was Gentleman Scholar with Creative Director Will Johnson, Managing Director/E.P Jo Arghiris, Executive Producer Kirsten Noll, Head of Production (Tyler Locke), Associate Creative Director Chris Finn, Associate Producer Kev Jones, Designers Madison Ellis, Gretel Cummings, Hanna No and Jina Kwon, 2D Animators Kenny Kerut, Henry Pak, Lauren Tom, Zack Miller and Jeffrey “Jip” Jeong, Cel Animator Lyuben Dimitrov, 3D Generalists Cameron Scott and Jeremy Ramirez, Assistant Editor Dominic Strazulo and Flame Artist Matt Lavoy.
