WWE Star Priest Teams Up With Welsh Locals & BT Sport For Comic ‘Clash At The Castle’ Promos

UK Broadcaster BT Sport and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star Damien Priest team up for a comic campaign called ‘The Homecoming’ to promote the end of summer WWE ‘Clash At The Castle’ event at The Principality Stadium in Cardiff on 3 September.

The comic campaign, created by agency Saatchi & Saatchi (with media buying by Essence) and rolling out from 23 August, is based around the idea that Priest has immersed himself in Welsh culture and present a series of funny situations highlighting the US/Wales cultural divide.

Directed by Simon Neal, the campaign is led by a series of spots which see Welsh locals take the American wrestler under their wing which results in Priest finding himself chasing after sheep to sheer them, offer a hand at Cardiff’s Mad Dog Brewery and even whip up some Welsh cakes.

By the end of the campaign, the Judgement Day member who performs under the Raw stable, has even learnt a little of the local language.

The online videos run across Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter with a long edit promoted via BT Sport’s YouTube channel ahead of the 3 September ‘Clash At The Castle’ main event.
