TaylorMade Promotes Stealth Collection Via Campaign Featuring Golfer Ambassadors ‘Dancing On The Green’

Set to the tune of Johann Strauss II’s famous ‘The Blue Danube Waltz,’ sports equipment and apparel company TaylorMade promoted its ‘Stealth’ club collection through a hero spot that synchronises the iconic tune to the swoosh of a swinging club and clink of the head striking the ball.

To promote Taylormade’s new ‘Stealth Irons’, the creative features a diverse group of amateur players enjoying their game and seeks to illustrate the beauty and precision required in golf and draws a parallel to the synergistic principles of dance and music.

Much like the music itself, the pace of the commercial starts slowly and then steadily built momentum throughout the narrative arc with an added and lively sense of humour that seeks to conjure up the inherent sense of fun of playing a round of golf.

Titled ‘Expect Better Shots, More Often With Stealth HD Irons’ dropped on 24 February across golf channels and TaylorMade’s own digital and social platforms.

As the spot states: “It’s not rocket science. Better shots equal better golf, lower scores and more fun. What golfer doesn’t want that? Stealth HD irons were engineered to be different, delivering high launching distance with draw bias to give you the confidence to expect better shots, more often.”

The commercial was produced by HB Films and helmed by award-winning Director Matt Hoffman who has shot sports ads with pro athletes for brands such as Gatorade and Nike as well as his recent Michelob Light ‘Equality’ campaign dramatizing the career of marathon runner Katherine Switzer.

“TaylorMade is the brand that embodies golf’s past, present, and future,” commented Director Matt Hoffman. “Working on this film was an opportunity to break through and drop the constraints of the expected golf shots; it’s an opportunity to celebrate the poetry of motion and physics that is golf.”

HB Films producer John Beveridge added: “I have had the good fortune of working with Matt for a lot of my career, and without sounding too punny, any time he gets to direct a spot blending his love of sports and advertising, he knocks it out of the park. Sports aside, as a fan of well-made commercials, some of his favourite ads celebrate golf. We at HB Films are very proud to collaborate on this film which we’re sure will join the cultural roster of iconic golf spots.”
