To leverage the start of the new Major League baseball season Red Bull has unveiled a new prank video, called ‘Special Delivery’, starring brand ambassador and Chicago Cubs star slugger Kris Bryant.
Red Bull not only has a long running athlete endorser tie-up with Bryant, but it is also the official energy drink partner of the Cubs and the stunt spot is the lead creative promoting new Red Bull limited edition cans across Chicago and throughout parts of the Midwest to celebrate the return of baseball.
The spoof social spot, amplified across the brand’s digital and social channels, sees Bryant go undercover to make pizza deliveries to unsuspecting fans carrying out their all-important start-of-season Fantasy Baseball draft picks.

The viral promotes limited edition cans that feature Snapchat Snapcodes that unlock augmented reality experiences: the star prize offers the chance for a lucky fan and Red Bull drinker to pitch to Kris Bryant himself.
Bryant appears in users world lens, while the front facing experience has the selfie lens which transforms the user’s face into a baseball that Kris hits into the air.

When it comes to Red Bull’s ambassador partnership with baseball super star Kris Bryant, MLB pre-season pranks (typically set during Spring Training) have become something of an annual activation staple.
