Nike Leverages New York Marathon 2019 With Fast & Furious ‘I Am Not A Runner’ Fronted By Eliud Kipchoge

To leverage the 2019 New York Marathon, Nike rolled out a new campaign which aimed to capture the drive, energy and tenacity that pulsates through New York City for those who run and those who run the city.

 

‘I Am Not a Runner’ showcases fast-paced New Yorkers that move the city – whether they describe themselves as runners or not.

 

The creative is fronted by Nike athlete ambassador and the world’s fastest marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge.

 

Kipchoge appears alongside a host of tough and tenacious citizens rushing to the subway, speeding through traffic and scrabbling to to sneak a bite from their local bodegas.

 

The hero spot is backed by a new track by Racket Club creative director Nick Crane.

 

 

New York City moves at a runner’s pace: really, really fast. If you’re here, you’re probably a runner, even if you don’t call yourself one. Take it from the fastest marathoner in the world, @kipchogeeliud

 

The campaign was linked through the #ReadytoRunNYC hashtag.

 

The campaign was created for Nike by R/GA, edited by Uppercut and the production company was The Customs Family.
