Melbourne Storm Stars Front Sponsor CarSales ‘Buy’ & ‘Sell’ New Season Campaign

Melbourne Storm sponsor CarSales celebrated its partnership in March through a pair of player fronted ads showcasing ‘more’ and ‘faster as keywords set to resonate with home fans through the 2024 NRL season.

Developed with creative and production agency Two Tractors and fronted by a trio of Storm stars – Will Warbrick, Tyran Wishart and Trent Loiero – the ‘Buy’ and ‘Sell’ campaign sets out to engage buyers and sellers.

The ‘Buy’ ad promotes the breadth of cars available on CarSales by playing on the word ‘More and showcasing Will Warbrick’s desire for more boots and more options leading to the sponsor claiming to offer him ‘more options’ with ‘more than 200,000 cars’.

The ‘Sell’ spot focuses on CarSales’ ‘Instant Offer’ and sees Tyran Wishart training in the gym doing dumbbell double the speed of other players to drive home the message that the sponsor’s ‘Instant Offer’ is faster than any of its competitors.

Both ads will run on the AAMI Park Melbourne’s big screen during all 12 Melbourne Storm home matches, as well as airing across a range of digital and social channels targeting NRL and Storm fans.

The spots debuted from 14 March.

The hero ads were backed by supporting social content including behind-the-scenes video.

“As Australia’s #1 for cars, we were excited to work with Melbourne Storm to develop engaging ads that highlight our partnership, entertain Storm fans and firmly position carsales as the ultimate place to research, buy and sell cars. “Melbourne Storm’s sporting dynamics, such as planning, preparation and performance, are also fundamental for a great business and culture. The touch of humour shines through these Storm players and embodies the fun we all had in executing these ads.”
CarSales EGM (Marketing, Content & Customer) Rafael Constantinou

“As always, it’s been a brilliant collaboration with CarSales. And I have to thank our Two Tractors team. With the NRL season about to start, we had a narrow window for filming and needed to turn this one around fast. Our Creative, production and post teams seem to love projects like this so it was great to see everyone with sleeves rolled up getting it done. We’re really pleased with the end result and couldn’t be happier to have such a strong partnership with CarSales.”

It was back in September 2022 that CarSales and Melbourne Storm renewed their partnership for a further three years

This work picks up where last season’s activations left off with 2023’s campaign seeing several Melbourne Storm stars take on the ‘CarSales Minute Challenge’.

The tie-up also sees CarSales branding feature prominently on Storm players’ jerseys, training balls and gear, and via on-field signage during Storm home games throughout the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
