STEPN Teams Up With ASICS To Launch Co-Branded, Limited-Edition NFT Sneakers

On 28 April 2022, running app STEPN (a move-to-earn Web3 lifestyle product) paired up with sportswear brand ASICS to release a limited edition ‘STEPN x ASICS NFT Sneaker’: a mystery box collection hosted and minted on the BNB Chain and launched exclusively on the Binance NFT Marketplace.

 

$100,000 from the sale proceeds of the NFT Sneakers were donated towards a charitable cause jointly by STEPN, Binance and ASICS.

 

The initiative was promoted through a tripartite digital-first campaign running across all three company’s social channels.

The NFT collection, co-branded by both STEPN and ASICS, generated plenty of attention in the running community and NFT buyers with more than 195,000 people participating in the initiative and subscribing to tickets. The total trading volume exceeded US$10m with the floor price being maintained at over $3,000.

 

STEPN is an app that rewards users with crypto currency for moving – walking, jogging or running – outside and users simply need to download the app, purchase an NFT, and then move outdoors to earn tokens. Users are able to spend their earnings within the STEPN ecosystem or swap it out to an external account and cash out for profit.

 

 

Since it launched in public beta in December 2021, STEPN has rocketed in popularity and crossed the $1bn dollar market cap, while user growth and engagement has also steadily increased with total app downloads exceeding one million.
