HSBC & World Rugby Expand ‘The Remarkables’ Film Series With Abi Burton’s Story

World Rugby (WR) partner HSBC again teamed up with rugby union’s global governing body to roll out a new film in its ongoing ‘The Remarkables’ featuring England star Abi Burton.

The video series, created by a WR and HSBC partnership, offers inspirational stories of rugby sevens athletes and is an ongoing activation pillar in the global banking brand’s title sponsorship of the ‘HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series’.

The film tells Burton’s rugby and personal story: from playing for her country at the Tokyo Olympics and moving to Wasps XVs, to her 2022 struggle with what turned out to be NMDAR Encephalitis (a rare neurologic & autoimmune disease) and related near-death experience to her rugby comeback.

This latest episode of ‘The Remarkables’, which dropped online across WR and HSBC digital channels, follows Abi’s inspirational story and features family, friends, teammates and her own perspective on her experiences of her life-changing journey in and beyond rugby.
