EE BAFTA Activation Based On Fan Voted Rising Star Award

EE’s sponsorship activation of the 2014 BAFTA Film Awards, which are now broadcast in 167 territories, primarily revolves around its backing of the event’s ‘Rising Star’ – an award voted for by film fans themselves.

The mobile brand focuses its leverage work around honouring fresh film talent through  BAFTA’s own platforms, the awards ceremony website, plus via EE’s own channels such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

The award’s nominees were selected from hundreds of actors by the EE Rising Star Award jury (which this year including leading film industry figures such as Mark Kermode, Kirk Jones, Peter Czernin, Charles Gant, Chris Hewitt, Priya Elan, Martin Robinson, Gemma Arterton, Karen Lindsay-Stewart,  Liz Karslen, Kate Lee, Pippa Harris and Larushka Ivan-Zadeh).

Awards ceremony host Stephen Fry fronted a digital film outline what the award is, why it’s important, and its place in BAFTA history,

while EE backed web work championing the case for each shortlisted candidate (such as this clip for the award’s eventual winner Will Poulter).

EE also ran ticket competition (and goody bag giveaway) partnerships with UK media brands (from GuardianWitness and the Express to Cosmopolitan and Woman’s Weekly) and co-sponsored the annual EE/Esquire pre-Bafta party at The Savoy.

The mobile brand’s rights also ensure its logo is prominent across the evnt itself and on all of BAFTAS’s own marketing material and iconography ranging from its official livestream show trailer

to its ‘cinemmersive style’ outdoor work, London Underground campaign, print executions and digital channels.
