Liverpool’s Gomez & EA Sports Back Pupil-Created Premier League Primary Stars ‘Ultimate PE Lesson’

Late June saw EA SPORTS reward the winners of its Premier League Primary Stars ‘Ultimate PE Lesson’ competition by giving them the chance to film their lesson alongside Liverpool and England defender Joe Gomez.

The initiative mechanic used the very same motion capture technology that is used to create player movements in EA SPORTS FIFA 19.

Key Stage 2 school kids (aged between 8 and 11) were challenged to create the ‘Ultimate PE lesson.’

The brief for this pupil-created lesson was that it ‘had to be fun’, that it must ‘demonstrate best practice for various movements’ and that it ought to ‘identify key learning points for pupils and teachers’.

The eventual ‘Ultimate PE lesson’ winners were Evie, Daisy and Sumpeng from Eversley Primary School in Enfield.

The Year Six pupils lesson design was a netball-inspired lesson which included guidance on throwing, catching, marking and intercepting.

The three winning kids travelled to Liverpool to film their lesson with Liverpool FC star and Champions League winner Gomez.

This pupil-created, competition-sourced new PE resource is now available for all teachers to access for free online through the ‘Premier League Primary Stars’ website.

It is added to all the other ‘Premier League Primary Stars’ resources which collectively aim to inspire primary school children in everything from maths and English to teamwork and sport.
