FIFA 2023 Women’s World Cup Drops Catchy ‘Do It Again’ Official Song By BENEE & Mallrat

The Official Song for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, called ‘Do It Again’ by BENEE featuring Mallrat, dropped on 28 June and went live across all major music platforms.

This sonic collaboration between two artists from the joint host nations – BENEE (from Aotearoa / New Zealand) and Mallrat (from Australia) aims to captivate football and music fans worldwide and capture the essence of the tournament’s key themes – celebration, empowerment and unity.

The official song seeks not only to provide soundtrack to the tournament, but also to ‘ become a lasting reminder of a milestone in the history of women’s sport’ as the FIFA 2023 Women’s World Cup is on track to be the most attended standalone women’s sports event ever.

‘Do It Again’ dropped on 28 June across tournament, artist and music platforms around the world – including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Deezer, Tidal and Amazon Music – all linked by the #DoItAgain #BENEE #Mallrat hashtags.

The track will also be performed live by BENEE and Mallrat at the Opening Ceremony of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 at New Zealand’s Eden Park on 20 July as they seek to ‘set the tone for the extraordinary tournament ahead’ prior to the first game kick-off which will see co-hosts New Zealand play 1995 winners Norway in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau.

This track is certainly infectious and vibrant and it continues the theme for belnding music and sport through official event audio initiatives: recent notable examples of this tactic range from FC Barca’s inventive tie-up with Spotify and EA Sports ‘Ultimate FIFA Soundtrack’ project, to Burna Boy fronting the Pepsi Max UEFA 2023 Champions League Final Kick Off Show and Budweiser and Lil Baby’s ‘The World Is Yours To Take’ official Qatar 2022 anthem.

As is usual for major sports events, there is an evolving multi-track official sonic landscape for this tournament and the official song’ follows on from October 2021 release of the ‘official theme’ called ‘Unity’ by Kelly Lee Owens.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, running between 20 July and 20 August, is the ninth edition of the tournament and has already notched up a record 1.1m tickets sales.
