Battery World Teams Up With A Trio Of Australian Sports Stars To ‘Power Your Summer’

In November Australian battery retailer Battery World announced a team of athlete ambassador partnerships with home-grown sporting stars – including Iron Man TJ Hendy, Big Bash cricket star Ben Cutting and Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medalist Mariafe Artacho del Solar – who all appeared in the brand’s Christmas campaign called ‘Power Your Summer’.

Hendy, Cutting and Artacho del Solar front the integrated festive season campaign which sets out to encourage Australians to get out and soak up the vitamin D doing all the things they love ranging from 4X4 adventures and boating to camping and beach sports.

The campaign spanned nation al TV, digital and social media channels.

According to Battery World General Manager Johnny Kennedy, the passionate, active and adventurous lifestyles of all three athletes align with the brand’s mission to ‘encourage people to explore Australia without the barrier of border closures’.

“We’re thrilled to partner with these three Australian athletes who have achieved incredible success in their respective fields and have made Australia proud as ambassadors of our country,” said Kennedy. “Their success is a clear testament to their drive and passion.”

‘Power Your Summer’ sees all three Aussie athletes specifically promote Australian-made Yuasa batteries which are manufactured by the country’s oldest and most recognised battery maker (and Battery World parent company) Century Yuasa.

Plus, an additional strand of the marketing push a competition element sees one lucky customer win a ‘Quinitrex Tinnie and Trailer’ (valued at $15,000) and/or a ‘Cool Cabana’ (with one cabana to give away per store) simply by buying either a Yuasa or Century battery in combination with any other product instore between 29 November to 24 December.

“As a beach volleyball player, the outdoors is very close to my heart,” commented Artacho del Solar. “We’re so lucky to have access to some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia boasting crystal blue waters and clear, white sand. It was so humbling to see how much Australia got behind our team at the Tokyo Olympics, and to be able to return the favour and support Australians in having a safe and exciting summer with the help of Battery World is a privilege.”

Aussie Iron Man TJ Hendy also shared her support for the brand and the campaign at the launch event and in the launch PR pack: “Knowing how much passion Battery World has for encouraging Australians to get outside and to live life to the fullest is a message I’m proud to help get out there.”

According to the company, summer is Battery World’s ‘most electric time of year’ as Aussies need to stick up/charge up for outdoor activities and for long journeys.

“Over the holiday season, we see a surge of customers preparing for their holidays,” added General Manager Kennedy. “We’d like to encourage holiday-makers to pop into their local Battery World to get those batteries checked, to ensure they’re charged and safe for their summer adventure.”
