Ashes Activation 2017/18 > Activative’s ‘Top 5 Campaigns’

2017 has seen some impressive international cricket statistics: the ICC Champions Trophy final between India and Pakistan saw a record TV audience of around 1bn (and record ad prices too), while the IPL’s cumulative reach was 411m and the ICC Women’s World Cup’s total audience surpassed 50m.

 

But the oldest international cricket series of them all, England v Australia, has its own impressive numbers too. The two teams first faced on another in 1876 and the 1882 test gave birth to the Ashes: a biennial series that is arguably sport’s greatest rivalry.

 

The Ashes might not generate the viewing numbers boasted by Indian cricket, but it arguably produces the game’s greatest sports marketing and sponsorship activation.
